Old, Individual Salt Dip - Nippon, Floral Design with Gold Trim

This vintage salt dip is considered an individual as opposed to a master salt. Each person at the table would have his own little dish of salt accompanied by a little salt spoon often made of sterling silver. This oblong dish is made of white porcelain decorated with hand painted pink and blue flowers and gold embellishments. The bottom is unglazed and has the red wreath, Hand Painted Nippon mark.

It measures about 3 ¾" by 2 5/16" and is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage.
