Old, Child's Sewing Machine - German Tin

This is a very nice, vintage sewing machine from Germany with pretty detailing. The sheet metal is painted black with decals of fancy gold scrolls, red tulip like flowers and buds and green leaves. The flowers are also on the corners of the base. Although it does not have the Casige name on the sewing plate it does have the Casige trademark of an eagle with its wings out spread, holding a key. Below the trade mark it reads; Made in Germany. This machine was made in Germany prior to WWII and was apparently advertised in the 1934 Christmas Montgomery Ward catalog. It is operated with a cam drive hand wheel and sews a chain stitch.

It is in very nice condition and appears to have no missing parts. The paint has good gloss and the decals are in good condition with minimal wear. All of the plating is good. It measures about 7 1/2" to the top of the tension nut on the spool holder. The base measures about 8" by 4 3/8".
