Old, Reverse Painted Light Shade - Yellow

Old, Reverse Painted Light Shade - Yellow

This vintage, glass shade is painted on the inside with a satin finish exterior. It is round and bulbous and decorated with an orange flower and green leaves on opposing sides with a blue flower and green leaves on alternating sides. The exterior is ribbed except for the 1 5/8" edge with has a more decorative embossing. This could be used on a ceiling fixture, large bridge lamp or small boudoir lamp. Probably from the 1920's.

It is for a standard 2 1/4" shade holder. The outside diameter of the neck measures about 2 1/4". The bottom diameter measures about 5 1/4" and it is approximately 4 7/8" high. It is in good condition with light wear. The bottom edge is quite rough and jagged but since it is painted I think is was not finished well in the manufacturing. There is also one nick on the top edge which fits into the shade holder. These "flaws" are shown in the pictures.

The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
