Old, Scare-Fly-Cotton Spider - Nice Graphics
This is a vintage package with harmless cotton, that is, supposedly, unless you're a fly. It wasn't intend to kill flies but as the fly pictured on the front of this box states; Us flies are scared to death of Raw Cotton. It also says to; Remove Spider form Box and inside the box is a cardboard package that has a cutout of a spider filled with cotton fibers ready to hang on a screen door to keep the flies out. On the back of both the package and box there is an explanation of why this product was suppose to be effective. It was manufactured by Cotton Repellants Inc. of Virginia with a patent number dating it to 1954.
The box measures about 3 3/8" by 5" and the inside piece is just slightly smaller. Both are in fairly good condition with light edge wear and soiling. One of the inside flaps is missing on the box and the cotton is a little matted in some places.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
