Old Celluloid Tape Measure Advertising Elder Shirts
This vintage celluloid tape measure is advertising Elder Shirts of Merit on one side with W.G. Beckman on the opposing side. There is a patent date of 1917 embossed on the center band and a 1919 date by the Parisian Novelty Company of Chicago along the edge. The yellow cloth tape has inch increments on one side only.
It measures about 1 7/16" in diameter and is in nice condition with minimal wear. The tape is in good condition with very minimal fraying at the beginning. It pulls out and retracts well with a little lag the last ¼".
