Old Sports Medal - Football Championship 1927
This vintage medal is in the shape of a football, nicely detailed with the "stitching" on one side. On the laced side the top is engraved "B.H.S." (Boise High School) and at the bottom is "B. Lemp". The reverse side is engraved "Idaho Champions 1927". This was apparently for the Inter-Scholastic Championship against Moscow, Idaho in December of 1927. The jump ring that is attached to the football has a couple of stamped marks that are unreadable but this has been tested to be 10k gold. It hangs from a small ring attached to a blue grosgrain ribbon that has a bar with a c-closure pin at the top. This came from an estate sale in Boise, Idaho.
The football measures about 3/4" in across and the entire piece measures about 2 5/8" in overall length with the ribbon. It is in very nice condition with minimal wear. There is some discoloration to the metal ring and the pin portion on the ribbon.
