Occupied Japan, Sango China, Large. 16in. Serving Platter
This old porcelain piece is beautifully decorated with a colorful floral pattern similar to Dresden Rose and Dresdenia. It has a white ground which showcases the multi-colored floral spray in the center and a pale cream band with the small flowers on the inner edge. The edge is embellished with a gold trim and the "handled" ends are more heavily decorated. It dates between 1945 - 1952 and on the bottom it is marked; Sango China - Made in Occupied Japan.
