Richly Colored Mexican Pottery Fish

This pottery fish was made in Mexico, possibly in the Tonala area which is near Guadalajara. The face of the fish has characteristics that remind me of a catfish. On one side the glaze colors are very rich in a floral design with a simple stroke design on the back side. It is marked; Mexico on the lower side. The bottom including the tip of the tail are unglazed. Some one has put felt on the bottom which I don't think is original. The white spots are light glare and not damage.

It measures about 7 3/4" long by 3 5/8" in high and is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage. The white spots are light glare and not damage.

The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
