Old, Celluloid Indian Chief Perfume Vial Holder
This is an exceptional, vintage celluloid piece from Germany that holds a glass perfume vial. The American Indian with full headdress conceals the perfume vial under his decorative robe. The top portion lifts off to reveal a cylinder which should have a small cap over it ( see www.rubylane.com/shops/ogees/item/7344). Sitting in the holder is a tiny clear glass bottle with a glass dauber in it. The vial measures about 1 3/4" long. This piece was apparently a souvenir as on the back it is marked; Niagara Falls. The celluloid base on which he stands is marked Germany twice.
The celluloid is in very fine condition with good color and detail. It stands about 2 7/8" tall.
