Old, Wind Up Celluloid Baby Doll with Original Box
This vintage wind up toy is called Bestmaid Crawling Baby and is from the late 1930's or early 40's. The celluloid baby doll crawls with life like movements when wound. Its face is very cute with a pouty mouth, rosy cheeks and blue eyes. She is dressed in the original red and white polka dot outfit and JAPAN is marked on the left leg.
It is in very nice condition with minimal wear. The celluloid is very good and so is the clothing with no tears or major damage only a few light stains. It measures about 6 1/2" in length depending on the crawling stride and 4 5/8" high.
The box has a paper label on the front with a picture of a baby crawling through a living room. There is a logo with KT - Made in Japan and Pat. No. 193965. Overall the box is in fairly good condition and is presently shrunk wrapped for protection. It measures approximately 6 1/4" high by 4 1/2" wide by 3 5/8" deep.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
