Old Stoneware Bowl - U.S.A. - Dark Brown
The glaze on this vintage bowl is slightly darker and richer than the Mar-Crest glaze known as Warm Colorado Brown. The color of the clay might be considered yellow ware. The bowl has slightly tapered sides with a narrow ring design. The sides are straighter than you would consider most mixing bowls. It is possible that it was used more as a baking or casserole dish and perhaps had a lid, maybe even a glass Pyrex type cover. It has a high gloss glass inside and out with a matte rim and ring on the bottom which is only marked; U.S.A..
It measures about 9" in diameter at the top, 7 ½" in diameter at the bottom and about 3 5/8" high. It is in nice but used condition with light scratch wear on the inside.
