Old Advertising Steel Tape Measure with Original Box
This is a vintage 6 foot steel tape measure in a metal housing with advertising. One side of the gold colored housing it reads; Since 1902 - The Vernon Company Newton, Iowa - The Ad that Stays PAYS - Specialty Advertising. The other side reads; Remember Me I'll Be Back - "Bob" Crooke with a Medford Oregon address. Stamped into the bottom edge it reads Add 2 Inches for Inside Measure. The metal tape also has the Vernon Company name. The top edge is marked off in 32nds and the bottom in 16ths with nothing on the back. The tape is pulled out and pushed in manually. It comes with its original gift box that reads; A "Golden" Rule to a Treasured Friend.
The case is in very nice condition with minimal wear and measures about 2" by 1 7/8" by 11/16" thick. The tape is in fairly nice condition with some dark areas of discoloration but no kinks or damage. The box has scuffs, edge wear and soiling.
