Yellow Blob Piggy Bank - Someday I'd Crack Up - 1960's
This old ceramic penny bank is quite comical. I believe it is from the Kreiss Psycho Ceramic series and the funny figure certainly looks as though it's in a state of frenzy. On the front it reads; I Knew Someday I'd Crack Up! and there is a tuft of dark rabbit fur is on the top of the head. The eyes and mouth are hand painted over the fired glaze as is the white around the "crack" which is a 1 ¼" coin slot. The bottom has a 1 ¼" diameter hole that would have taken a rubber plug. It has its original paper label that reads; RegUS.Pat.Off. Norcrest Japan. I believe this is from the 1960's.
It measures about 6" high and the base measures about 4 5/8" across. It is in good condition with minimal wear to the paint and a couple of teeny nicks in the glaze. It does not have the rubber plug.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
