English Victorian Gold Watch Key
A charming English 14k (tested) gold watch key. During the Victorian Era there was a watch key, for winding, for every watch. The less expensive watches would have a common type of key that if your key was lost a general type of store would carry a replacement and all you had to do would remember the key number, a 7 or 8 etc for a replacement. The more expensive watch would require a special key made just for your watch.
Watch keys would be worn by men or women who would have one of the more expensive item. This watch key would make a lovely charm, has the bloodstone centered on each side and has a 1 5/8" drop and is 3/4" wide.
This really is a lovely antique item from the mid-1850's.
