Leather Books Edward Bulwer-Lytton, Four Volumes, 1878
This is a collection of four of Edward Bulwer-Lytton (Right Hon. Lord Lytton) novels including Godolphin, The Claxtons, A Strange Story, & Kenelm Chillingly. The books were published in London, in 1878 by George Routledge and Sons.
The four volumes are quarter bound in green leather with red marbleized boards, and leather at the corners. The spine has five raised bands with six gilt decorated blocks, two of which are text blocks with Lytton's name, and title in gilt.
There is a minor bit of foxing on the end pages, but other than that, the text pages are clean and free of marks or tears. The text block edges are also marbleized.
The books measure 5 15/16" x 9 3/16."
This is a very nice set of four of Lytton's works, and present well on a desk or a bookshelf.
