1864 English Scent Perfume Bottle
This is one of the most interesting Victorian perfume bottles I have found. The lid is pewter and under very high magnification I have found the date of 1864 and very faint impress words E.D. Depose.
Is this small tightly woven reed bottle a vile of something? part of a medical set? or an early scent or perfume bottle? The glass stopper is in good condition and the screw on style lid in good order. The only problem that I could find are some spots on the woven area. There are no splits or breaks to the bottle or woven cover. The vile/bottle this measures 3 1/2" long and at its shoulder or widest point is 1 1/4".
