This pair of white goat fur Diadora boots, marked "Made in Italy/1240 46 47," were in Larry Hagman's estate. (I checked some conversion tables, and I believe that corresponds to an American 12 and 1/2 to 13.
The fur appears to be intact. The color is a light blond. The "liner" has quite a bit of wear.
I have done a bit of research on this and found the answer to "Why goat hair?" It's water repellent (as opposed to water resistant: we don't recommend taking them through slushy puddles) as well as windproof. Plus, caring for them is a snap: just rinse light stains with water; more intense cleanings can be done using a mild liquid detergent The soles are made of thick black rubber. The maker is Diadora, the famed Italian sportswear company; the tag on the side of the boots reads Diadora Dopopista.
All of memorabilia items from celebrities. such as Phyllis Diller, Larry Hagman, Robert Goulet and many others, are accompanied by my Certificate of Authenticity, which includes Auction and Lot Number if applicable.
