I am proud being able to present you a darling orchestra with six gnomes playing different instruments. There is the conductor with his sheet music, a gnome with a squeeze box, a saxophonist, a violinist, a cymbalist and a drummer.
Most of the old Vienna Bronze orchestras have ten musicians when they are complete; however this one was created with six members. My Vienna Bronze expert informed me that he had the same one about fifteen years ago with the same orchestration but not in such a good shape.
This is a cold painted authentic Vienna (or Wiener) Bronze cast in the traditional lost wax technique (cire perdue). The polychrome painting (several different layers) is called cold painted since it was not fired.
Unfortunately there is no shop mark on any of them; however, you have to consider that there were about 50 workshops at the turn of the last century. (Most of them did not survive WW I or had to close for good shortly after.)
