A Well-Made And Handsome Tantalus, Circa 1930

This is another item from the consignors who have entrusted me with selling many of their lovely items accumulated over many years of marriage. All of the information and measurements and photos were supplied by the certified appraiser who recommended me to her clients.

One photo shows the front of the tantalus. The top locking drawer has 3 separate compartments, probably for cigars.

Another photo is the top, mahogany with inlay

Another photo shows the side of the tantalus with string inlay.

Finally, another photo shows the tantalus opened. As you see, the doors have racks for glasses, six of which original ones remain. The original glasses have yachting flags and gold rims. The inside holds three decanters, only one of which original remains. The drawer below has three separate compartments also, perhaps for tobacco.

Size: The total size of the tantalus is 17 3/8" t x 14 1/2" w x 8 7/8" deep.

Condition: Good to Very Good. Usual wear for a piece of this age.

Circa: 1930.

All information per the appraiser.
