Royal Doulton Large Vintage Character Jug - "Monty" - England, Closed Edition
Bernard Law Montgomery (1887 - 1976), first Viscount Montgomery of Alamein, was referred to familiarly as "Monty". The highlight of his long and distinguished military career include the first Allied victory of World War II in North Africa in 1942 and the acceptance of the German surrender at Luneburg Heath in 1945. He was Deputy Supreme Commander of The Allied Powers in Europe from 1951 - 1958.
