Carved Walnut Box With Bird Form Finial. Lovely Foliate Base
This caught my attention immediately. The lovely bird on top is so enchanting, I couldn't resist. And the lovely carved foliate base is so apt. The bird finial seems to be caught in flight, hovering over the pierced squat body of the box above the foliate base.
Height 4 3/4 inches.
Condition: The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners. Still, it is in Good to Very Good Condition.
Circa: Early 1900's.
