Chinese Mudman Seated Patron Of Old Men And Longevity, Circa 1920

Chang Kuo-Lao is the Patron of Old Men. He holds his bamboo tube drum, a kind of musical instrument with two beating rods, symbolizes longevity. He is said to have had supernatural powers which could make him invisible.

He is glazed in Green and Brown.

Size: 3 and 1/2 inches tall.

Circa 1920.

Condition: Colors vibrant. Very Good with no breaks, cracks, losses or restoration. Very slight rubs on base. The overall condition is much better than you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.

This is part of the fabulous collection of 144 vintage and antique mudmen I have just purchased, that had been lovingly collected over many decades. I purchased all 144 pieces, all in Very Good to Excellent Condition. I will be listing all of them, and of course will consider a reduced price if one were to purchase all or a large number of them. I am listing them at very affordable prices individually as well.
