British PIRELLI Glass Dog Figurine, Scottie or Schnauzer, c 1950

This is an adorable Pirelli figural piece of glass made in the form of a Scottish Terrier dog (although it might be a Schnauzer).

Pirelli Glass was founded by George Dunlop on 1945 and closed in 1985. Dunlop was also a distributor and became a partner in the Scottish glassmaker Vasart.

Pirelli was well known for their charming animal figures, and this is a wonderful example.

The figure measures 2 ¾" in length and 1 7/8" height - it weighs 1 oz.

The piece is made of clear glass with applied yellow glass beard and tail and white, brown and black glass eyes.

It probably dates to the 1950s and still has its Pirelli Glass black foil label affixed to it.

It is in Very Good Condition with no chips, cracks or wear.
