The black lace of the parasol shown here is made of Chantilly Lace which has been woven in a circle especially for a parasol to eliminate any seams. The lining is made of cotton which is great as it holds up over the years extremely well. The edges have been scalloped to eliminate a seamed edge. There is one small parting of the lace shown and a small stain on the pink cotton which most likely can be removed with cleaning fluid.
It measures 24 1/2" from the bottom of the handle to the tip of the parasol. With the handle closed it measures 13 1/2" and is 19" wide opened from tip to tip of the lace.
The handle is made of ivory and is deftly carved, creating a sense of delicacy. The handle collapses as was the style then. The combination of the black lace, pink lining and delicate ivory handle creates a feeling of femininity not often found in today's world.
International Buyers - we would need to obtain a cites certificate before shipping due to the ivory handle. Please contact me.
