Bossons - Wildlife Series - "Bluetits" - c 1968 Congleton, England
This charming wall hanging depicts a wonderful "family" of bluetits. You can see the hungry mouths protruding from the nest, as Mom feeds them and Dad proudly hovers over them. How unusual to find one in Excellent Condition with no losses! Bossons are still reasonable enough to start a fine collection without mortgaging the farm! Even if you are not a collector, having a lovely taste of spring and happy family on your wall is certainly sure to put a smile on your face. This piece measures 4 and 3/4 inches tall, 3 and 3/4 inches wide, and 2 and 3/4 inches deep.
Made of a gypsum plaster fortified with a plasticizer to add flow and hardness, poured into molds and handpainted, they are easily broken or damaged. Naturally, the better the condition, the more they are worth! I think Bossons should be appealing to those who want to collect something interesting and still reasonable enough to be affordable.
