Orrefors is arguably the most renowned crystal manufactory in Sweden. This exquisite plate, with an interesting and different process of engraving the image and the border in gold on the crystal plate.
A shrine for relics of St Marks, patron saint of Venice. The Basilica faces the famous Piazza di San Marco. The exterior fills the eye with shape; Gothic niches, pointed arches, bas-reliefs, pinnacles, the Horses of St Mark; domes; and color.... antique, alabaster capitals, shafts of porphyry, mosaics and gilding.
A note with the history of this church is included.
The plate, nearly 10 inches across, is in Excellent Condition. The box is in Good to Very Good Condition.
