19th Century Black Lacquer Mauchline Gift Box - "Happy Returns Of The Day"!
This is a beautiful 8 sided Mauchline box, circa 1870, in Very Good Condition, that expresses the sentiment "Wishing you many happy returns of the day" pictured among a branch of roses on the lid. This artwork stands proud of the lid with a gilded line surrounding it. The lacquer is in terrific condition. It has the original decorative rope inside the box, red paper lining, and a brass locking catch that works.
This little gem measures 4 inches x 3 inches x 2 and 1/4 inches high.
