This is truly magnificent. The wooden jewel box is partly walnut veneer and partly black finish. The porcelain miniature, handpainted and in Excellent Condition, has a bronze frame. The black finish has inlaid work with mother of pearl, gilt bronze ornamental borders, and four bronze ball feet.
The age is circa 1860-1880.
It is 5 and 1/4 inches high (13.5 cm); 12 inches wide (30.5 cm); and 10 and 3/4 inches deep (27.5cm)
The overall condition is what one would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed, handled and used. It is still in Good to Very Good Condition.
