Cut Glass Compote With Metal Base
The glass bowl on this compote is cut glass. There is a clear center star cut on the underside of the frosted bowl. The curved top has clear cut stars and ovals along with a cut scalloped edge. The metal base is not marked except on one foot pad: 730B. The compote stands 7 5/8" tall. It is 7" across the glass top. The metal base measures 4 1/8". The metal has embossing showing a man's face. Perhaps representing a Norse god or? No idea what country of manufacturer this from. We are dating it to be about 1880. The metal base unscrews from the bowl. There are no chips or damage on the glass and the metal seems to be in good shape.
