A huge amount of work has gone into making this item and it is a wonderful example of "Islands" craft work. For every strand of woven straw a small hole has been drilled through the coconut and the symmetry of the work is just lovely. Made I would think as a tourist item and it is actually a little carry container, or purse I'd say.
