The S.S Brasil was built for the Moore-McCormack Lines and was launched on September 4th 1958. Her Sister ship the S.S. Argentina was launched in December of that same year. In 1971 the Brasil was purchased by Holland America Lines and became the Flagship for World Explorer Cruises. The ship is currently used as a Campus for Semester at Sea. This plaque is therefore pre 1971...it is 6 1/8 inches in diameter and is solid brass (made in Switzerland). Condition very good.
