Exclusively Rare - 1975 Spring General Offensive Badge. This badge was Awarded to Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army combatants who saw action during the 1975 Spring Offensive. The Spring Offensive led directly into the final Ho Chi Minh Offensive that saw the end of the Vietnam War. The Spring Offensive was launched on the 10th of March 1975 with a combined VC / NVA / PAVN Attack on the previous US Special Forces Command and Control Centre at Ban Me Thuot. The City fell within days and the house of cards started to tumble with the unrelenting VC Advance leading to the fall of Saigon less than two months later. Very few of these badges remain. On returning to North Vietnam, all soldiers that had served in the south were searched at train stations and bus depots for war spoils and items were removed from the holders by Security Personnel and Party Officials....as these badges were awarded in the field many were therefore confiscated. Some paint loss as pictured but in good condition otherwise....measures approx 1 1/4" diameter.
