RARE Thomas Clarkson 1840 Anti Slavery Convention Medal

This large white metal (2" diameter) British Medal is quite rare and seldom available ....the only example we could find was sold at Auction in the USA for over US$400 in September of 2010. This medal we are offering has faults...some wear marks, flattened edges etc ...all as pictured, so it is offered for considerably less than $400. The maker was B.R HAYDON. The Obverse depicts Thomas Clarkson in high relief with the Reverse depicting a kneeling slave in chains and the words....."Am I Not A Man And A Brother".THE TWO RINGS OF SCRIPT READ...... 'British Foreign Anti-Slavery Society' and 'General Anti-Slavery Convention Held In London 1840 / President Thomas Clarkson' with a facsimile signature, followed by.... Aged 81.
