I'm advised that this Lady astride a Lion is the Symbol of THE BRITISH EMPIRE. The statuette is of finely cast Spelter metal mounted on a wooden plinth and would date to some where around the mid to late 1800's. There is a small stress crack on one leg...not bad....and there are cracks to the wooden plinth...I can fill and paint these if required by the purchaser. There is a small wear loss of silvered finish here and there but really this just adds too the aged feel of the piece. This impressive Statuette stands 13 3 /4" tall and is a superb piece of Victorian decoration from the days when GREAT BRITAIN ruled Supreme in The World...RULE BRITANNIA!
