WHY NOT be a little different this Summer with one of these charming Pacific Island purses or Ketes ! This is one of 11 different tapa, shell, and woven purses and ketes from a collection that we are now offering. I'm not certain of the Islands of origin as tapa work is done on most of the Pacific.....Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga are the major ones of note. The Ketes made from woven flax are likely to be of New Zealand Maori origin. All these items are Vintage ...not new...so have some small wear signs usually. This unusual tub style purse is quite lovely and done in a two tone weave.....the plant used has a raffia type feel and appearance to it.
