'U.S.S. Joseph Strauss DDG 16' Vintage Souvenir Ashtray

The USS JOSEPH STRAUSS was a CLASS - CHARLES F. ADAMS . She had a displacement 4526 Tons (Full (oa) x 47' x 15' (Max) with Armaments 2 x 5"/54 RF (2x1), Tartar SAM (1x1 Mk 13) ASROC ASW (1x8), 6 x 12.75" Mk 32 ASW TT (2x3). Speed, 33 Knots, Range 4500 NM@ 20 Knots, Crew 333-350. Laid down by New York Shipbuilding on December 27 1960. Launched December 9 1961 and commissioned April 20 1963. Decommissioned February 1 1990 & stricken January 11 1995. Sold to Greece October 1 1992 & renamed Formion. Decommissioned July 29 2002. Sold for scrap by the Greek Navy February 19, 2004.

This ashtray is 6" in diameter and is in like Mint condition. Japanese porcelain.
