This is a large and very impressive Spirit Kettle made by THE STANDARD SILVER COMPANY of Toronto. The piece stands a full 14 1/2" in height and across the base has a diameter of 8 3/4". I believe it is a Coffee Pot rather than a tea pot due to shape and it's origins being Canadian. Handle appears to be ebony and of the pot tilts on its stand for pouring. This came with the Butter Warmer we have listed so probably dates to a similar period of around 1870's-1880's. This wonderful old item has been polished vigorously over its long life and consequently has a lot of the original silver plating worn off.
