1918 Cane Cutters Panga

This is a pretty serious large knife. It measures 16" in length with the blade at the widest point being 3" across. The non cutting straighter edge is very thick and tapers down to the curved cutting edge...no doubt to give extra weight to the swing and downward pressure. On the blade is impressed... W. GILPIN. 1918. Probably used in Fiji as a Sugar Cane slasher or possible as a Coconut cleaver there or on one of the Pacific Islands.
