Wit and Wittles Booklet Phil Baker Armour's Star Foods Advertising

Wit and Wittles by Phil Baker. Radio emcee, comedian and accordion player and more. Date: Approximately 1930s. 12pp. Size: 3 ½" X 6”. Paper wraps. NRA [National Recovery Administration] logo on back cover.

According to the site “Answer”, Phil Baker died in 1963. He started his own show in the 1930s, called The Armour Jester. The series was carried by NBC. In the 1940s he went on to host a game show.

On the cover the NBC radio microphone is seen on the left and his accordion on the right. I assume that is a tasty piece of Armour meat with Baker in the middle of the cover.

Included in the booklet are four ham recipes and two pages of leftover ham ideas.

Title: “My Life in Funny Stories...With a little advice on how to do things you’ll probably never want to do.”

Back Cover:

“Remember the retailer from whom you have received this book. It is his responsibility to serve you with fine quality foods at reasonable prices - always. And to fulfill this obligation, he sells Armour’s Star Quality foods.”

Condition: Good condition with a little edge wear and staple wear at the top.

Optional insurance.
