Spook-tacular Halloween Paper Mache Pulp Double Sided Jack O Lantern Lantern in Original Box! The box was dated by the original owner as dated 1957. The box is also stamped in black ink Oct 25 1957. The Jack O Lantern has a metal ring that fits into the top of the Jack O Lantern so can attach to a flashlight or a lighting fixture. It is a tight fit and I did not force the adapter into the top of the Jack O Lantern. I will leave that up to the new owner. The directions are on the outside of the box.
The top of box reads: The new "2 Way Jack-O-Lite can be used in several ways to add gaiety to your Halloween. The carton illustrates a few of Jack-O Lites applications. Jack-O-Lite... a safe, spritely Halloween light for use by children and grown-ups alike,,, that's JACK-O-LITE!
The front of the box reads: The ""2-Way" Jack-O-Lite is here shown as a decorative lighting element in the home. It is easily attached to ceiling, bridge or floor lamp lighting fixtures. See how simply it's done.
The back of the box reads: The "2-Way" Jack-O-Lite is perfect when used as a portable illuminated pumpkin lantern by the simple use of any standard flashlight. See How Simply it's done.
One side of the box has instructions for flashlight use. The other side has instructions for use on ceiling lights of floor & bridge lamps. (Please see pictures).
The Jack O Lantern measures approximately 7 1/4" high (not including the handle), 8 1/2" across t the widest part & 7" deep.
The Jack-O-Lantern is is very good condition. One side of the Jack O Lantern has paint loss on his upper left side of his lip and just above his left eye. There are a couple of other tiny spots here & there but nothing major. Please see all my pictures. If you want to see more pictures please email me.
The previous owner inserted tissue paper on the inside of the Jack O Lantern to protect the paper inserts. I did not remove the tissue. I will let the new owner do this, as I did not want to damage the paper insert. The paper inserts are not attached to the Jack O Lantern. I do see a small tear new one of the eyes on the paper insert.
The box is in very good condition for its age. There is some shelf wear to be expected with an item that is 60 years old.
