Antique German Biedermeier Doll House Miniature Sewing Table by Kestner Late Victorian 1" Scale Dollhouse Furniture

This wonderful and hard-to-find antique German Biedermeier dollhouse miniature sewing table was made by Kestner of wood and finished in a rosewood stain. The top, with white painted banding, lifts open to reveal an original mirrored back surrounded by large gilt Dresden paper edging. Green painted compartments edged with smaller gilt Dresden paper, contain sewing supplies and implements including a bodkin and tiny scissors that really open!

The sewing compartment is mounted on lyre shaped legs with a small white diamond appliqué on each side. A stretcher with padded footrest helps support the table.

It is crafted in 1" scale and measures 2 3/4" t x 3" w x 2 1/4" d. It is in good condition with two repairs to one of the legs and the top having a replaced fabric hinge. Some of the Dresden paper trim is missing along the hinge side. Circa 1880s.
