Tootsie Toy Dollhouse Tea Cart – Light Brown 1920s 1/2" Scale

This charming and hard to find Tootsie Toy dollhouse tea cart has a rectangular tray top with serpentine apron, two working wheels in the front and a handle at the back for easy transport. It was one of the earlier pieces made having been produced in the 1920s. It has a light brown enamel finish.

It measures 1 5/8" t x 1 1/8" w x 1 3/4" d and is in good condition with a break on the back stretcher where it attaches to the leg. The wheels turn perfectly and the finish is nice and shiny with minimal paint loss.

Manufactured by the Chicago based Dowst Brothers firm from 1922 to 1937, Tootsie Toy furniture is made of cast metal in 1/2" scale. The colorfully enameled furniture followed popular furniture styles of the 1920s and 30s.
