Strombecker Dollhouse Bathtub - Light Green 1936 1" Scale

Strombecker dollhouse bathtub has a stair step shape with 3 horizontal tiers found on the front, continuing around a wide angled corner and across one side. The design is influenced by the Art Deco styles popular during the 1930s. The other two sides are straight so it will fit flush into a corner. It has metal knobs and a faucet. Crafted of wood, it is painted with light green gloss enamel.

Made in 1" scale, it measures 1 1/2" t x 5 3/4" w x 2 1/2" d and is in good condition with foxing on one end and a chip in the bottom. The paint is nice and shiny.

Strombecker, an American manufacturing company from the early 1900s, began production of wooden 1" scale dollhouse furniture in 1931. This bathtub is from their 1936 De Luxe Furniture line. They produced living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furnishings. It proved to be a successful venture and production continued until 1962. They produced a wide variety of doll house furniture and accessories in both 1" scale and 3/4" scale (added in 1934) mirroring the decorating tastes of the times.
