This is a very Rare Brooch that dates from the 1890's-1890's. It is a Pin on Brooch that has a Shell Cameo ( with (3) Maidens frolicking and placing a Garland of Flowers on (1) of the Maiden's head ) with an early Photograph (Tintype) Image of a prominent looking Gentleman on the back. The photo & Cameo swivel on an axis so that either one can be displayed. The Locket Frame removes easily for photo placement and has old cotton wading in it behind the photo and Cameo. The Brooch / Locket measures 2 1/2" in length by 2" across and the metal appears to be Gold Filled and has a leaf with a design on it, attached to the bottom of the Brooch. The Cameo measures 1 1/2" by 1 1/4", the Photo Locket measures 1 3/8" by 1 1/8" and it is 3/8" in thickness. Other than the Pin on the back being gone and the Cameo having some wear on the top high points, it is in really nice condition for being 120 + years old. We are sure a jewelry repair person can replace the pin and remedy the problem easily.
