19th Century French Blue Opaline Vase w/ Sterling Overlay
This is a 19th Century French Blue Opaline Vase with Sterling Overlay. It is also known as Bristol Glass that is hand -blown glass. It has a rich, intense, high sheen, translucent French Blue color, which this is the most desirable rich powder blue color. It is It is a Blue cased glass with a white interior. And this white casing shows up when you look down at the top / inside of the Vase. It has a Sterling Overlay band around the top of the vase and around the collar and about 1" down it has a Sterling Overlay band.
It has a branch on the front and back, This is done in Sterling Overlay. It has (2) Apple Blossom branches, with (2) Pair of Lovebirds around a Flower Bloom and what appears to be a Baby Bird in a nest or an Apple on a Bird Cage. This Vase measures 6 1/2" tall, 2 1/4" across the top, 1 7/7" across the bottom, and is 12 1/2" around at the widest part. The bottom of the vase appears to have a deeper blue as this may be that the vase is thicker glass at the bottom.
It is in wonderful condition with no problems.
