This is a magnificent gilded console made by the middle part of the 19th century, originally coming from Paris and combining lime tree and stucco for a breathtaking result. The serpentine shaped marble is original and named Incarnat Turquin, it is coming from the south west of France; such marble were used on several fireplaces in Versailles. The console is boasting a beautifully patinaed gold leaf highlighting the intricate embellishment from the pierced carved belt to the cabriole legs and bottom stretcher. Minor scratches and dents can be seen due to the age. Circa date 1850. Dimensions 36"high/ 47"wide/ 22"deep.
