This is a rustic painted Buffet made from walnut by the beginning of the 20th century, originally called Buffet Glissant due to the pair of sliding doors on the upper section. This item is coming from Provence in the South of France. This lovely piece is offering a good storage capacity with 3 upper compartments sitting upon the buffet below providing a 2-drawer frieze above a pair of recessed paneled doors revealing a larger storage area, all supported by a scrolled apron and cabriole legs on escargot feet. Note the intricate embellishment and hardware highlighting the piece. Several scratches and dents can be seen here and there due to the age. Circa date 1900. Dimensions 56"high/ 55 ½"wide/ 24"deep.
