This is an exquisite and elegant Bookcase made from a beautifully patinaed walnut by the end of the 18th century during the Directoire, which followed the Revolution period (2 November 1795 until 10 November 1799). This is really appealing piece is as adorable as convenient thanks to the large storage capacity provided in between the upper and bottom part, both providing storage compartments with small drawers and separated in their center by a pull out leaf topped by its original greenish leather, which can be used as a writing area. The handles and escutcheons are original while the locks and keys were replaced at some point. Please note a few minor scratches and dents can be seen all around due to the age as a few tears on the leather. Circa date 1799. Dimensions 69"high/ 34"wide/ 19"deep.
