Here is a late-nineteenth-century pin that is entirely hand made in silver. It tests sterling but is not marked. It is probably of American origin. The fittings are of the period and include a C-catch, a tube hinge, and a long pin bar that extends past the edge of the pin. The design of this piece is detailed and shows five ivy leaves. The pin is in good although not perfect condition. There is a 3/8" gap between the cap and the edge of the pin, shown in the photographs. (It is very hard to see unless magnified many times, and it does not affect the wearability.) The pin weighs .12 oz. and is 1 1/8" in diameter.
