This 100% wool double wove (pattern reversed on the back side) geometric coverlet is in the pine tree pattern. It was woven in two strips and sewn together up the middle. It dates from around 1850 and is probably from Indiana. The corner treatment of the pine tree border is known to be the work of an Indiana weaver. The coverlet was discovered in Michigan. This coverlet is in excellent but not perfect condition. It has edge wear and some discoloration along the edges on the white side. This coverlet is a generous size, measuring 76" X 92." It is shown on a full-size bed. (Most coverlets are rather narrow, since they were made for smaller Victorian-era rope beds.)
